Metal movable types of my first name, bought from Taiwan (Ri Xing type foundry)

You might notice that the website address includes “LCW” before Shirley. Those are the initials of my Chinese name.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong, and my mother tongue is Cantonese. Lam is my last name, and C and W are the initials of my given name, Cheuk Wing.

Cheuk describes something standing tall, or someone who appears independent and outstanding.

Wing means the tip of a grain stalk, and its meaning was later extended to refer to talent or intelligence.

I want to use these initials to honor my roots in this beautiful city.
